What is the Kite Mark?
The BSI Kite Mark is a sign of quality assurance.
Every brand of condom can test their own condoms in house to gain a European CE Mark this is for condoms that meet a minimum standard for condom testing.
To gain the coveted BSI Kite Mark the factory and its manufacturing procedures are rigorously tested and inspected annually by BSI.
Samples of condoms from a batch are then vigorously re-tested by BSI before the kite Mark can be applied.
Some of the top brands that have the BSI Kite Mark:
EXS, Boys Own, Mates, and Durex.
Non Kite Marked condoms are they legal?
There are a number of condoms sold in the UK that do not have the BSI Kite Mark.
Generally these are not sold to the NHS who are usually insistent on condoms having the BSI Kite Mark.
LTC Healthcare would only recommend condoms that have been kite Marked.
Water Based, Condom Compatible, Lube Production.
